Media Pálinka Club celebrates 25th Jubilee

It may not have racked up a quarter of a century yet, but the Media Pálinka Club is celebrating its 25th club evening on December 6, 2007 at the Wall Street restaurant in Budapest. This important event also just happens to fall on the Day of Saint Miklós, the patron saint of pálinka. To celebrate, the organizers will be bringing with them pálinka from the Szalonta Distillery's excellent Matheus Pálinka (Anno 1857) range from Pálháza in north-western Hungary. The selection will be introduced by Csaba Máté, after whom it is named.

As a foretaste, the distillery's Williams pear pálinka was voted top pálinka at a presentation held at the Hungarian Institute in Paris in May. The American and French experts selected the winning pálinka from a field of more than 20 pálinkas produced by nine Hungarian companies.

Date and venue: December 6, 2007; 19:30-22:00; Wall Street Restaurant, Andrássy út 19.
